Fall 2004 Camera Shootout

What I saw of the Sony HDR-FX1 yesterday got me thinking, it's time for a head to head comparison of this new camera with my current favorite, the Panasonic DVX-100A and the impressive Canon XL-2, all three cameras in 16:9 mode. While it's not an inherently fair comparison, these are the three top contenders today among small prosumer cameras, all in the same ballpark in terms of price and performance, therefore, a qualitative comparison of these three is in order. If you're interested in attending this weekend, give me a call at 617.216.1096.
