Scope moves online

Scope is a fully peer-reviewed journal that recently made the move to a new format as an online publication.

The first issue of the new series appeared in February 2005.

edited by staff and students in the Institute of Film & Television Studies at the University of Nottingham. It is published three times a year, in February, June and November. Established in 1999, the journal changed to its current format after five years of continuous publication. All issues dated between May 1999 and November 2004 are now available in our Archive.

For example, issue 2 has an excellent review of The Fog of War

As our title suggests, Scope provides a forum for discussion of all aspects of film history, theory and criticism. Given contemporary film studies' varied concerns, it is our belief that we can best serve our readers interests by promoting as wide a range of approaches and critical methodologies as possible.

Scope is dedicated to publishing material of the highest scholarly interest, and to this end we have assembled a distinguished Editorial Advisory Board of academics and critics. We welcome contributions from established writers engaging with cutting-edge debates in film, media and cultural studies. However, we are also keen to act as a supportive environment within which those new to the field of film studies may publish their first work.

To submit a manuscript for consideration in Scope, please consult our Submission Guidelines. Articles, book reviews, film reviews, and conference reports should be submitted to the relevant Section Editor. All other queries concerning Scope should be sent to julian.stringer@nottingham.ac.uk

Scope is grateful to the international film studies community for its continuing enthusiasm and support -- the success of our enterprise depends entirely upon the level of response generated by our readers. We encourage you to submit your articles and reviews to us, and we look forward to many more years of online film studies.
