About Destiny is a very short narrative film. It has been screened at festivals and was licensed for broadcast for "The Short List" on PBS as well as WE: Womens Entertainment. It's a classic New York love story of two people who are perfect for each other. Two narrative threads. Two young professionals. Two dogs. Two actors. Two (or so) days of shooting. Two thousand dollar cash budget. The main action takes place pretty much in two minutes. Destiny is all about twos.
The Filmakers

The film was shot and directed by David Tamés and produced by Liza Case, David Chachere and David Tamés. Liza Case wrote the screenplay. Nelson Ryland spent many hours in a dark Media Composer suite as the editor. We had many enthusiastic and talented people join our crew for production, We wish we could include them all here. Balazs Nyari of Cineric made things possible behind the scenes as Executive Producer. The filmmakers include everyone who made the film possible through their geneosity and support.

Rich Madelung (Greg), David Tamés (Director), and Liza Case (Margaret)

Script You may read a copy of Liza's delightful script which is available for download here: Destiny1.pdf (PDF format, 25K bytes).
Production We shot Destiny in 35mm using an Aaton 35-III, a small and lightweight camera. It is a delight working with this camera, it offers practically the same mobility and ease of use of a Super 16 camera (it's only four pounds heavier than the Aaton XTR and lighter than a professional camcorder) with the spectacular image quality and optical characteristics of 35mm. Even though the final film exists as a video, the spectacular quality of 35mm aquisition comes through.
Motivation

The journey is the reward. There is nothing quite like the intense collaborative process of filmmaking.
